Speakers: Eunice Myers & Betty DeLong of HH Santa Pal Lt Leach of HHPD Blue Santa The Harker Heights Santa Pal Program, run by the Harker Heights Fire Dept, is a community initiative providing holiday meals (prepared at home) and toys (ages 0-17) to needy residents of Harker Heights, requiring in-person sign-ups with documents during a specific early December window, often supported by the Lions Club and local fundraisers. Donations of toys and money are accepted from the community members and local service clubs such as the HH Kiwanis Club. Blue Santa is the Harker Heights Police Department’s way of giving back to our community! Every December before the holiday break, bicycles are donated to children enrolled in the Killeen Independent School District’s Homeless Awareness Response Program (HARP). Year round, new bicycles are donated by citizens and businesses in Harker Heights. Approximately 50 bicycles are donated each year. The Community Services Division is collecting new children’s bicycles for our Blue Santa program from now until December 10th. Monetary donations for new bicycles are also accepted! HH Kiwanis also donates to this program each year. Call them for further details.
