Harker Heights Kiwanis Club member David McClure is also a volunteer with the Clements Boys & Girls Club. They sponsored 10 kids from Killeen and Nolanville in the national program, C.A.S.T.
The pond is stocked with trout and the fish are cleaned on site and given to the participant to take home. The kids are also provided a rod & reel with a tackle box they get to keep. Some participants are special needs kids who would otherwise not get to be a participant in an activity like this. David would like for the City of Harker Heights and the Harker Height Kiwanis Club with the Boys & Girls Club to sponsor this event at Carl Levin Park in the future.
