Robert M Shoemaker Citizenship Awards: Recognizes students who exhibits and is involved in selfless service in the school and/or community, demonstrates responsibility, is honorable and is a positive leader. Only one student from each school is chosen for this honor. Their name will be on a plaque displayed in the school.

Congratulations are in order for HH Kiwanis member David McClure. His 7 years on the Harker Heights Board of Adjustment was recognized by the city at the 2023 Volunteer Awards night at Carl Levin Park. A tree has been planted in the park in his honor.

Harker Heights Kiwanis Club member David McClure is also a volunteer with the Clements Boys & Girls Club. They sponsored 10 kids from Killeen and Nolanville in the national program, C.A.S.T.
The pond is stocked with trout and the fish are cleaned on site and given to the participant to take home. The kids are also provided a rod & reel with a tackle box they get to keep. Some participants are special needs kids who would otherwise not get to be a participant in an activity like ...

The 51st annual Harker Heights Kiwanis Pancake Supper was held on Saturday February 18th at the Harker Heights Elementary School to a crowd of about 300 hungry patrons. Club President Norm Dunbar and Board Member Jeanette McNiesh along with several other members have the important job of preparing the Wright Brand bacon. The Harker Heights HS Key Club members were hard at work and at the same time having a lot of fun working the Harker Heights Frost Fest along with their Kiwanis Advisor Lisa Youngblood and of course Santa. This year it has a western theme.

The Harker Heights HS Key Club have been very busy so far this school year. They have been working on the community garden and participated in the Celebration of the Monarch Butterfly. They also worked on the Harker Heights Fun Day in the park and Haunted Heights at Carl Levin Park. Check out their pictures in the Photo Gallery.
