EHMS Builders Club members sorted food all day at the Killeen Special Events Center central collection point for the annual "Food for Families" food drive. This drive helps restock almost empty local food pantries in the Killeen/Harker Heights area.

The Eastern Hills Builders Club was one of the honorees at the 12th Annual President's Volunteer Service Awards Ceremony on May 21, 2012 at the Killeen Civic & Conference Center. Builders Club members logged 2,616 volunteer service hours over the 2011-12 school year! 29 members received the President's Service Award for 50 or more hours serving their community.

The Eastern Hills Middle School Builders Club headed up a school wide fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to honor one of their own who had battled leukemia and is now in remission. They raised a whopping $7,751.57 total through collection boxes sent home with all the students, online web sites and class and individual fundraising efforts. Their initial goal was to raise $2,400!The winning class will receive lunch for the whole class from the society's partner, Olive Garden's Pennies for Pasta.
