Batman Day at the Stewart C Meyer Public Library was a huge success due in part to the volunteer efforts of the EHMS Builders Club, Kiwanis sponsor Vivian Marschik and the HHHS Key Club along with library staff and volunteers. Library director Lisa Youngblood (Kiwanis member) invited Batman (center) and his entourage of Green Arrow, Bat Girl, The Huntress, Raven and Cat Woman to visit with the children.

A special presentation took place today, Sept 13, 2016. Pat Christ, Elijah King and John Footman came to the Kiwanis meeting to Recognize and Honor our Kiwanis Club Vietnam Veterans and the spouses of deceased Vietnam Vets.

Harker Heights Kiwanis Club was selected to be the custodian for donations from friends and family in memory of Kiwanis member Ray Kolin. It was presented by his wife Alice Kolin to Nona Zellmar, granddaughter of Kiwanis member Esabell Zellmar at the May 31st meeting. Ray's request of the recipient was "Make me proud".

Bob Dunlap was awarded a plaque for his 39 years of Exemplary Service to the Harker Heights Kiwanis Club. He has coordinated the Community Easter Sunrise Service since it's inception and a dedicated worker for our American Flag Program.
Richard Dinwiddie was awarded a plaque for his 38 years of exemplary service to the Kiwanis Club, first with Killeen then Harker Heights. He had worked many years delivering meals on wheels, volunteer income tax counselor and on our American Flag Program
